This Thanksgiving week at St. John the Apostle School was marked by a heartwarming tradition that brought joy to both students and families in need. On Monday, students from Pre K through grade 8 came together to provide Thanksgiving dinners for those less fortunate in the community.
Continuing our time honored tradition, each class was assigned a family to provide for. From the tiniest hands in Pre K3 to the graduating eighth graders, every child was responsible for a specific menu item to create a basket of ingredients for a complete Thanksgiving dinner.
The eighth graders embraced the role of delivering the carefully crafted baskets to the parish rectory. From there, the Thanksgiving dinners were distributed through the parish chapter of the St. Vincent de Paul Society, an organization dedicated to assisting those in need.
This act of giving, especially during a season of gratitude, serves as a powerful reminder that small gestures can make a big difference in the lives of those less fortunate.St. John the Apostle School remains dedicated to fostering compassion, community, and the spirit of giving during this special time of year.
