At Saint John the Apostle School we use the KnowAtom program, a comprehensive curriculum that introduces students to various concepts in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). Through hands-on activities and science labs, our students have the opportunity to engage with the material in a meaningful way and build a strong foundation in STEM. The curriculum for fourth grade includes topics such as matter and energy, human activity, sound, and light and communication, while the fifth grade curriculum covers topics such as matter and motion, earth materials, water on Earth, and matter and energy cycles. The program follows the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS), ensuring that students are learning material that is current and relevant. Students work in a classroom that is a dedicated science lab.
